Synopsis:

“World Food Crisis” is a documentary series on Hunger, its causes, effects and solutions for the problem.

The pilot  film examines the problems of climate change, lack of infrastructure in critical places (like Africa) and growing demand.  Agricultural production must double by 2050 (UN goal) with very limited arable land expansion that is possible without further impact to the environment.

The film follows UN FAO’s conclusion that it is time for a follow-up to the Green Revolution: massive investment must be made in infrastructure, genetic research and dissemination of knowledge, as well as machinery and access to technology.

The narrative structure is composed of a series of testimonials and interviews that are linked together by a voice-over narrator.

Shot in FullHD 1920 x 1080, the series is currently in production. With release planned for mid-2014, it is directed towards a broad audience and negotiations are underway with tv stations worldwide.  It will also be freely distributed to schools and libraries.
